This tour is an awesome combination of agro and eco tourism. On the coffee portion of the tour, you will learn how to grow, cultivate, and process coffee, from bean to cup. This includes visiting the plantation and nurseries, the wet mills and sun-drying patios, and the drying warehouse. You will also learn about beekeeping and process of extracting and processing honey. Additionally, you will see how bananas are sun dried to make delicious dried banana snacks!
The farm is surrounded by gorgeous nature and this tour includes a truck ride and hike to see forest thick with biodiversity, panoramic views of the Samala river and Santiaguito and Santa Maria volcanos (when it’s clear), and a beautiful waterfall. You will also hike through a ravine created by a stream, which is home to many species of butterflies, and then climb a 200 foot (60 meter) rock up to a bamboo forest, using roots as a rope!
The operator of this tour can also arrange to spend some of the tour time participating in farm work, if you are interested. Just add a note in your booking, or shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want more information about getting your hands dirty!
After you book your experience, you will receive a confirmation email from us confirming that your payment went through. You will then be connected directly to the tour operator, in case you have any further questions. We are also happy to answer any questions about the tour, or travel in general in your country of destination.
