Itinerary

This action-packed day will begin when your guide picks you up from your accommodation. Your transfer into the rainforest will take you through 4 typically scenic Puerto Rican towns before you take a refreshing stop to pick up some local fruit; here you will also have the opportunity to purchase local fritters or fresh fruit smoothies. Your journey will then recommence and take you straight into the heart of Puerto Rico’s most majestic natural wonder.

On your arrival into the forest, you will have a brief safety orientation and be kitted out with all the necessary protective equipment. This is where the adventure starts. Next you will take a guided hike through the extraordinary flora and fauna which make up the 29,000 acres of this sub-tropical rainforest. Make sure you stay on the lookout for some of the wildlife which is native only to the El Yunque; the Puerto Rican Parrot is particularly rare and endangered, with approximately only 13 left in the world, all of which remain in this very forest.

Having played the part of the explorer, it’s now time to go back to school and relish in the excitement of being in a natural playground. Rope swing into natural pools, rock jump into the basins of waterfalls and glide down naturally formed slides in the midst of rapids. Get your adrenaline fix before relaxing to the soothing soundtrack of cascading water with fresh fruit to hand to satiate the hunger you have inevitably worked up.

Before heading back to your accommodation, you will have the chance dry off and change clothing. To conclude the day, your guide will take you to a popular local restaurant where you will be able to purchase freshly cooked Puerto Rican cuisine. This is the perfect way to complete a day filled with adventure and exploration.
