This 4 hour experience will take you mingling with wild horses, strolling along black sand as waves wash against you, snorkeling amongst endangered corals and swimming with sea turtles. What’s not to love?
On this tour you will dive straight in. Your guide will lead you down a remote stream where wild horses roam and drink from the fresh water. You will have the chance to mingle with the horses and feed them their favourite fresh fruit snacks. The horses are not entirely wild, but their owners allow them to roam free in their natural habitat. This is a very authentic experience and will transport you back to a time when cars were not yet invented.
The stream will lead you to the magnetic black sand beach, infamous on Vieques. Take your time to stroll along in the break of the waves and admire the looming cliffs which line the cove.
Next, you will take a short drive to the beach of Rompe Olas (Wave Breaker). This beach is usually very calm but like its name implies, when it is breezy, only half of the cove will be affected as the wave breaker keeps it calm. Here is the perfect spot to cool off after the hike to Playa Negra. Here, you will have the opportunity to snorkel; in the turquoise waters, there are colorful corals, diverse schools of fish and last but definitely not least, sea turtles. Here you will see sea turtles munching on corals; an increasingly rare opportunity to see these endangered species in their natural habitat.
