Have you heard of Peru’s Laguna 69? Located 15,255 feet (4650 m) above sea level at the foot of the Chacararaju Glacier, Laguna 69 can be said to be one of the prettiest lakes in the Cordillera Blanca. Join us on a 2 days 1 night Trekking Laguna 69 tour, as we bring you to see this wonder.
Laguna 69 is one of the more than 400 lakes that form part of the Huascaran National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. But why Laguna 69? The name was due to the fact that some lakes in Huascaran National Park did not have names before the park was created in 1975, but the need to include all the lakes into a list forced authorities to give a number-based names to those without a traditional name.
Today, Laguna 69 is one of the more important traveler destinations of the region, visited mainly by fans of hiking and mountaineering, given the simple access and the spectacular scenery. For this Trekking Laguna 69 tour, you will start hiking from Cabollapampa, and will take approximately 3 to 4 hours to reach the laguna.
