Start and end location: Ollantaytambo
To start off your tour, you will walk uphill from Ollantaytambo along the Patacancha River. As you hike, you’ll be able to see archaeological sites such as Inca Paccha, a waterfall the Incas built coming from a nearby spring, and Muscapuquio, one of the biggest terraces in the Sacred Valley.
After Muscapuquio, you will continue on to Muris. There, you will take a detour path to the ruins of Pumamarca. After a guided tour of the archaeological site, you will have lunch and rest. Then, you will start hiking back to Ollantaytambo along an ancient Inca trail. On the way, you will follow the Inca Channel, pass the Muscapuquio terraces, and visit the archaeological site of Media Luna. By the middle of the afternoon, you will arrive to Ollantaytambo.
