Discover the Sacred Temple of the Pisac Ruins
On this Full-Day Pisac Ruins Tour, marvel at fantastic views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas at experience an Inca archaeological site. This tour is perfect to acclimate to the altitude of the region, as you go on a short hike on a less-traveled section of the Inca Trail. You’ll also get to experience Andean life first-hand as you visit a local family and enjoy a delicious traditional meal.

Duration: 7 hours (8:30 am-15:30 pm) Start and end location: Cusco Availability: Year-round
8:30-9:00 am – After being picked up from your hotel, you will go to the town of Pisac. At the Market of Small Producers, you will enjoy a light, Andean-style breakfast.
9:30-12:30 am – Trek up to the sacred temple of Pisac. Admire the ancient stone carvings of the ceremonial site and explore the Incan city. Have a small picnic while enjoying the stunning valley scenery.
12:30-13:00 pm – Wander in the Pisac market to find souvenirs such as alpaca woven products, paintings, and textiles.
13:00-14:00 pm – Travel to the Andean community of Arin. There, you will meet an indigenous, local “mamacha” in her home. Enjoy a tasty, traditional lunch there, prepared using traditional ceramic cookware and fresh, local ingredients.
14:00-14:30 pm – Try “chicha de jora,” a traditional corn beer which was sacred to the Incans, in a typical “chicheria.” You will learn about the production of the sacred beverage, how it contributes to local Andean culture, and how the “chicherias” are the lifeblood of the socio-economic community of the Sacred Valley.
14:30-15:30 pm – Return by car to your hotel.
