Day 1 – Arrival to Lima and Transportation to Hotel
After you arrive to the airport in Lima, transportation to your hotel will be provided. A pick up time will be arranged based on your estimated arrival time.
Day 2 – Cusco City Tour and Temple Exploration
In the morning, we will provide transportation to the airport for the flight to Cusco. After landing in Cusco, our operators will pick you up and take you to the hotel in Cusco. At 13:30 pm, you will start on a tour of the city. On your tour, you will hit all of the city highlights, including the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun, and Koricancha.
After exploring the city center, you will travel beyond the city to visit the temples of Kenko, Tambomachay, and Puca Pucara. To end your active day of sightseeing, you will explore the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman and enjoy its stunning views of the city of Cusco. At 18:00 pm, you will return to the hotel and have the evening free to relax.
Day 3 – See the Sacred Valley, Explore the Ruins and Local Market of Pisac, and Marvel at the Fortress of Ollantaytambo
Your Peru highlights adventure for the day starts at 8:30 am as you make your way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Sacred Valley is one of the most beautiful and important Inca sites and has gorgeous terraces and landscapes. After exploring the enchanting Sacred Valley, you will travel to the ruins of Pisac. With incredible panoramic views and a native marketplace, the ruins of Pisac have plenty to appreciate.
After a delicious, local lunch, you will continue your journey by heading to the Ollantaytambo fortress. Upon completing your visit to Ollantaytambo around 17:30 pm, you will take a 12 minute walk to the train station to board your 19:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes, the town closest to Machu Picchu. A guide will be present at the train station in Aguas Calientes to transport you to the hotel.
Day 4 – Experience the Iconic Machu Picchu Cultural and Historical Site
Your most exciting day yet starts bright and early! You will begin your visit to the sacred city by taking a 30 minute bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu. You will then have a two hour guided tour that highlights the most significant Machu Picchu sites and allows time to explore independently afterwards.
Once your tour is completed, you will take a bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch and a possible visit to the famous hot springs. At 19:00 pm, you will take the train to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco. You will arrive in Cusco by about 23:00 pm.
Day 5 – Return to Lima and City Tour
In the morning, our transport service will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco to go to the airport. Once you land in Lima, there will also be a service to transport you to the hotel. After time to settle in, you will take a tour of the historic center of Lima. Rich in historical significance, Lima is known for its architecture and intriguing combination of modern and colonial styles. You will have the opportunity to visit the Convent of San Francisco, which is home to a large exhibition of colonial, religious art, as well as crypts and catacombs.
Day 6 – Maritime Tour of the Ballestas Islands, Sand Dune Activities at Laguna Huacachina, and Pisco Tasting
After a 5:00 am pick up, you will begin your journey towards the Balneario de Paracas, a coastal city. Upon arrival at 9:30 am, you will embark on a maritime tour of the Ballestas Islands. During your tour, you will pass through the bay, the port of San Martin, and see the famous Candelabra sand figure. The islands are home to a majestic array of marine life that includes sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and dolphins. Your tour along the beautiful Peruvian coast will last about 2 hours, after which you will have some free time for lunch and souvenir shopping.
At 13:30 pm, you will have the chance to visit and hear the legends surrounding the Laguna Huacachina, near the city of Ica. Then, you will be able ride in the dune buggies by the sand dunes or even go sandboarding! Once sandboarding has worn you out, you will travel to the “Pisco route,” have a guided tour of the distillery, and taste the Pisco. At 18:00 p.m. you will return to Lima for the night.
Day 7: Departure
