With the incredible culinary delights of Peru, it is no wonder this is one of our most popular tours in Lima! Learning about and tasting the cuisine of Peru won’t just help you know what to order in restaurants, you will also get the story behind the story on Peru’s interesting and diverse cuisine. This nine stop tour will take you through a local neighborhood, popping into small, hidden, family-run restaurants. The owners have rich family histories and guard their special recipes for traditional Peruvian dish with care. This Lima culinary tour will leave you happy, stuffed and filled with knowledge!
From the very first stop your senses will be alive. Along the way through the neighborhood we will try “Parihuela”, a delicious soup made with seven different types of seafood, a mind-blowing ceviche unavailable anywhere else, fresh native fruits from a local market, a Lucuma fruit smoothie, chicha morada (a delicious purple corn and fruit drink) several Peruvian snacks with mouth watering fresh spice blends, and a home-made “comida criolla” dish that depends on the day: seco de cordero (lamb stew with fresh blended coriander herb paste over beans and rice) or a stuffed avocado (with chicken, mayonnaise and several other delightful ingredients). We will finish the tour learning about chocolate – from bean to bar! Our dessert will be either artisan gelato, a Peruvian brownie, vulcano chocolate or a hot Mayan chocolate.
We’re waiting for you to come and enjoy!
