Visit small mountain villages and get to know Peru’s rich heritage and living culture with an overnight homestay. Set out on a 4-day trek along the Inca Trail to the Lost City of Machu Picchu, to Lake Titicaca — the Aztec birthplace of the universe — and across the border into Bolivia.

Day 1: Explore Lima
Begin your 2 weeks in Peru exploring the vibrant capital city of Lima. explore its rich history on a walking tour around the city’s highlights. Explore the Miraflores district, full of bars, restaurants, and cafes. Take your free time in the afternoon to try the local culinary flavors.
Accommodation: Hotel – 1 night

Days 2-3: Canoe in the Amazon Rainforest
Fly to the rustic community of Puerto Maldonado. Paddle your canoe along wide rivers into the dense Amazon Rainforest. Encounter monkeys, macaws, otters, thousands of butterflies, and other species living in thriving in this outstanding ecosystem. Learn about the medicinal uses native fauna from a local guide.
Accommodation: Jungle Lodge – 2 nights

Day 4: Explore Cuzco
Travel to Cuzco — Peru’s heart and soul. Explore the city on foot and discover the central plaza’s ornate colonial churches. Then head to the impressive Inca ruins dotting the city’s outskirts.
Accommodation: Hotel – 1 night

Day 5 Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo
Travel by private transport along the Sacred Valley’s lush terraced hillsides, stopping en route at a local village to experience more of traditional Inca culture. Meet friendly locals on a community visit and spend the night in the pre-Spanish town of Ollantaytambo – an Inca refuge and fortress during Spanish colonization.

Days 6-9: Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Accompanied by porters, cooks, and a local guide, set out on a four-day trek on the historic Inca Trail. Enjoy stunning panoramas as you hike along the scenic plateaus, cross through thick, lush forests, and stop to see the the old ruins of ancient villages. Arrive at Machu Picchu and explore the awe-inspiring Inca Lost City.

Accommodation: Camping (with basic facilities) – 3 nights; Hotel – 1 night

Day 10: Relax in Cuzco
Return to Cuzco and take the day to explore the central market’s food stands and artesanal goods. Stroll the shops or soak up the city’s bustling atmosphere at a local cafe.

Days 11-13: Encounter the Uros Floating Islands on Lake Titicaca  
Travel to the town of Puno, set on the banks of the mystical Lake Titicaca. Take a boad ride to to the incredible floating Uros Islands — built entirely from native reeds. Sail to Taquile Island, where the community’s men make the Peru’s finest quality handmade wool goods. At night, get to know the local hospitality and delight in a family homestay.
Accommodation: Homestay – 1 night; Hotel – 2 nights

Days 14-15: Explore La Paz
Travel to Bolivia’s capital, La Paz, and explore Bolivia’s expansive and rapidly growing city. Go souvenir shopping, and be sure to stop by the Witches’ Market! You’ll find a folk remedies like herbs, amulets, stones, and other items used in traditional medicine and rituals. Your 2 weeks in Peru and Bolivia ends here.
