Our Inca Jungle Tour is a fun-filled week of adventure, adrenaline and culture as we journey to the “Lost City of the Incas.”
4 Days/3 Nights
Day 1: Downhill mountain biking & White Water River Rafting.
Our trip starts with hotel pick-up and transportation to the Abra Malaga mountain pass. Here, we will get our safety equipment and prepare our bikes for the trip. Then, our downhill mountain biking guide will briefly explain the route to us.
Once on the trail, we will cruise over 40 miles downhill in under 5 hours. We’ll finish the biking portion of the day in the town of Chaullay where we’ll exchange our bike gear for rafting gear. Then we’ll continue our Inca Jungle Tour adventure on the Wilcamayu river on a 2-hour rafting excursion. When we’ve finished rafting, pre-arranged transportation will take us to our campsite in the Vilcabamba Valley.
Day 2: Hiking in the Machu Picchu Canyon
After a deliciously healthy breakfast of fresh fruits and local coffee, we will take a 40-minute bus ride to the starting point for the day. An ancient Inca Trail along the Urubamba River will lead us on a 6-hour trek by coca plantations and quaint villages to our destination, the Cocalmayu Hot Springs. We will relax in the healing waters of this mountain paradise and camp nearby for the evening.
Day 3: Flying like a Condor: Canopy Zip-Lining
We’ll begin the day with an adrenaline rush flying through the cloud forest mountains at 40 miles per hour. After zip-lining, we will take a bus to Hidroelectrica where we will embark on an easy and relaxing 6-mile trek to Aguas Calientes-Machu Picchu, arriving around 2:00 pm. After a well-deserved lunch, we will head to the hotel to rest up for the following day.
Day 4: One of the Seven Wonders of the World – Machu Picchu
On our final day of our Inca Jungle Tour, we’ll get to Machu Picchu in time to see the sunrise. Later we’ll take a guided tour of this magical, mystical place that will help us better understand its splendid history. We’ll take a train back to Cusco in the afternoon to celebrate with a fine dinner and a round of beers.
Difficulty level: Moderate
The train included in all tours is the Cerrojo backpacker. Train times will only be confirmed once the tour is paid in full.
