Duration: 7 hours (9:00 am-16:00 pm) Start and end location: Cusco Availability: Year-round
9:00-9:40 am – You will be picked up from your Cusco hotel. Then, you will enjoy a light Andean-style breakfast in the San Pedro market. Your guide will tell you about the market, its vendors, and its products.
9:40-10:40 am – See the ceremonial cave of Chektaqaqa and its amazing stone carvings. Visit the sacred temple of Kusilluchayoq, which has more stone carvings with symbols of the Andean Trilogy. Discover the mythic carving of the Heart of Mother Earth. Learn about the Inca worldview as you examine the carvings.
10:40-11:00 am – Wander in the Temple of the Moon and see the Carvings of the Puma and Snake.
11:00 am-14:00 pm – Go on a short downhill hike to Inkilltambo, meaning “where the angels rest” in Quechua. Hear about the mysteries of this sacred place and see its stone carvings.
14:00-15:30 pm – Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in the San Pedro market. An indigenous, local “Mamacha” will prepare the meal with fresh local ingredients.
15:30-16:00 pm – Return to your hotel in Cusco.
