Full-day trip to learn the art of Chazuta ceramics and participate in a bowl-making course, followed by a chocolate-making and sculpture gallery tour.
The Chazutinos, who live in Chunchiwi – a one-hour walk from the village of San Roque De Cumbaza – possess a dynamic culture expressing themselves artistically through their ceramics. Their pottery is based on the known and widespread technique of rolls of clay and contains several key symbols representing their connection to religion and nature. Come join us for this full-day tour out of Tarapoto, where you can not only learn how to make these Chazuta ceramics but also experience a real opportunity to feel what it is like inside these local indigenous houses built out of earth and palm leaves.
