On this day trip from Cusco, we will visit Lake Huacarpay, one of the most visited lakes in the region known for its bird observation opportunities. We will also visit the first part of the Manu Park road, a biosphere reserve where we can observe four local bird species.
This half day tour starts very early in Cusco. Once we get to Lake Huacarpay, we may have a good chance to watch birds such as the Bearded Mountaineer (Oreonympha nobilis), the Streaked-Fronted Thornbird (Phacellodomus striaticeps), the Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera), the Plumbeous Rail (Pardirallus sanguinolentus), the Rusty-Fronted Canastero (Asthenes ottonis), the Puna Teal (Anas puna), the Giant Hummingbird (Patagona gigas), and many more migratory birds. After lunch, we will travel back to Cusco.
