Known to be the ideal whitewater kayaking spot, the Pacora River is located about an hour from Panama City toward the northeast of Panama. A diverse river with both shallow and wide sections, the Pacora River is the ideal kayaking spot from July to mid-December – during the rainy season of Panama!
The upper part of the river, from Chapala to San Miguel takes up to two hours to kayak through and the lower part, from San Miguel to Carriazo may take up to 1.5 hours to get through. There are both challenging and easy sections in this tour.
One of the more challenging sections of this tour is the Shaker, known as ‘La Batidora’ with Panamanians. It is a challenging section with whitewater pounding on a steep and narrow channel. This tour is for those with adventurous spirits and a taste for an adrenaline rush!
