The family of Samuel Salinas invites you to live like the people of the indigenous Comarca lands – sleep in a palm house, eat traditional food, learn about the culture and meet the people. The Comarca is the home of the Ngobe Bugle peoples. They are a very hardworking, humble, and friendly people. This is a great “off the beaten path” type of adventure, and a unique way to spend some time if you are traveling between Panama City and Boquete or the Chiriqui highlands.
You will stay with the family of Samuel Salinas, an organic farmer and your guide, in the community of Bajo Cerro Ñame in your own palm roof hut. There will be 1 to 2 daily guided excursions – choose between: a walk to the waterfall and petroglyph, visiting a local cocoa farm, visiting the local community, a Ngobe language class, a hike to the mountains, learning traditional artisans goods, visiting the local primary school, or fishing on the farm. Optional excursions include a consultation with a traditional medicine man (additional charge of USD $15) and a traditional “hegy” dance troupe (additional charge of USD $10).
