Your visit to a coffee cooperative lets you be part of the collection and pulping of coffee; see the process of fermentation and washing prior to the drying processing. You will learn the economic and social benefits of this crop, and discuss issues such as certifications, marketing, and cooperatives. After the tour, you’ll visit a Nicaraguan campesino family for a typical lunch and finish the tour with a delicious cup of coffee, made by one of the cooperative families.
