You will be picked up from your hotel somewhere between 07:00 am and 08:00am on the day of the tour, and then be driven 40 minutes through the coastal jungle until you reach your boat. This is where you will continue with the journey through the wetlands on a boat – you will come to Boca Paila, a point where the wetlands meet the sea. This is where manaties and crocodiles will also appear, so keep a lookout for them.
Then, you will head off to visit cays with colonies of incredible birds, afterwhich you will continue your adventure in the Caribbean sea looking for other animal species such as dolphins, turtles and more. You can also choose to snorkel in the area, and take a look at the world’s second largest coral reef or enjoy the sandbar – which the locals refer to as a natural swimming pool.
After that, you will arrive at the tour operator’s base in Punta Allen to enjoy a delicious Caribbean lunch, and be expected to be dropped off back in Tulum between 18:30 pm to 19:00 pm.
