Explore Mexico Islands and Go on a Snorkeling Adventure
This Mexico islands expedition captures the spirit of the Bay of Mazatlan. First, you’ll cruise to three of the bay’s most famous islands with a crew of expert marine scientists. During this adventure, you’ll have the chance to interact with playful dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, and a great variety of coastal birds. Throughout the day, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful scenery and learn a lot from the fantastic expedition leaders as you explore some of the best reefs, beaches, and crystal clear waters of the area. The tour boats provide a great platform to ensure a more intimate encounter with marine life and awesome photography opportunities.
The islands of Venados (Deer Island), Lobos (Wolf Island), and Pajaros (Bird Island) are very important natural icons for Mazatlan. This small archipelago is part of a natural protected area that serves as an ecological reserve for the local flora and fauna. These islands are home to several species of birds, reptiles, and endemic plants. Additionally, an incredible array of tropical colorful fish, mollusks, crustaceans, and other invertebrates inhabit the rocky reefs along the coastline. The local marine ecosystems sustain most artisan fisheries and the livelihood of many local fisherman and families.
You will also get to visit the Mexico islands of Dos Hermanos and Los Cardones. If it is winter, you will be able to find sea lions at the colony at Roca Tortuga.
