Day 1 – Arrive to Oaxaca and Check Into Your Hotel
When you arrive to Oaxaca, your Mexico Bike Tour will start as you are transported to your hotel. The amazing city of Oaxaca is in south-central Mexico. The state of Oaxaca has more speakers of indigenous languages than anywhere else in Mexico due to its place in history as the home of the Zapotec and Mixtec peoples. You will stay the night in Oaxaca City.
Day 2 – Admire the Colonial Buildings on an Oaxaca City Tour
Today, you will go on a city tour of Oaxaca City. You’ll see the attractions and most impressive buildings of the colonial town. At night, you will stay in Oaxaca City.
Day 3 – Explore the Archaeological Site of Monte Alban and Browse the Market at Atzompa
You will bike 5.6 miles (9 km) to the west of Oaxaca City to the large archaeological site of Monte Alban. After exploring the site, you will bike to the town of Atzompa. There, you can see how locals make green clay handicrafts. After visiting the market, you will cycle back to Oaxaca City to stay the night.

Day 4 – Visit Markets and Admire Local Handicrafts as you Bike through Several Towns
Your Mexico Bike Tour continues with a bike ride to a town called San Antonio Arrazola, which is known for wood handicrafts. Then, bike to Cuilapan and see a majestic church. Continue on to Zaachila to visit a market. Finally, you will arrive to the town of San Bartolo Coyotepec. There, local artisans make the famous Oaxaca black pottery. You’ll bike back to Oaxaca for the night.

Day 5 – See the Huge El Tule Tree and the Archaeological Site near San Pablo Villa de Mitla
You will bike to the town of Santa Maria del Tule, 5.6 miles (9 km) to the east of Oaxaca City on the road to Mitla. There, you will find El Tule Tree, a gigantic tree in the church grounds in the town’s center. Next, you will continue to the town of Mitla and check into your hotel. You will be able to see the famous pre-Colombian Mesoamerican buildings of the archaeological site in the town of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. You will stay the night in Mitla.

Day 6 – Marvel at the Hierve el Agua Petrified Waterfalls and Prehistoric Murals
You will bike to a unique attraction in the mountains: the Hierve el Agua petrified waterfalls. After admiring this natural wonder, you will continue to Xaaga to see prehistoric murals. Then, you will bike back to Mitla to rest for the night.

Day 7 – Climb to a Scenic Mountain Town and Stay in Forest Cabins
You will start the day with an uphill ride through fantastic scenery to the mountain town of Cuajimoloyas. A support van will be available if you do not want to climb the whole way. Along the way, you will stop in Teotitlan de Valle. You stay the night in cabins in the forest near Cuajimoloyas.

Day 8 – Bike Downhill to Oaxaca, Stopping at Tlacolula
You will enjoy wonderful landscapes and beautiful photo opportunities as you bike downhill back to Oaxaca. Along the way, you will pass through the town of Tlacolula. You can stop by the market there. You’ll stay the night in Oaxaca City in the Francia Hotel or similar.
Biking distance: 25 miles (41 km)
Day 9 – Drive to Ixtlan and Climb to La Cumbre
You will go by van to the town of Ixtlan. After 10.5 miles (17 km), you will find a long (6.8 mile/11 km), steep climb to La Cumbre. When you get to Ecoturixtlan, you will stay in mountain cabins. During the day, you will pass by the town of Guelatao, where Benito Juarez was born.
Day 10 – Catch Fish for Lunch at a Trout Farm and Do Fun Activities in Ixtlan
You will bike to the small town of Xiacui and catch your lunch at a trout farm. Then, you can participate in optional activities in Ixtlan such as zip lining, rappelling, or hiking. At night, you’ll stay in Ecoturixtlan.

Day 11 – Bike from Ixtlan to Oaxaca with Uphills and Downhills
Today, you will bike first downhill, then on a steep uphill, then downhill again on the way back to Oaxaca from Ixtlan. A support van will be available. You will stay the night in Oaxaca City in the Francia Hotel or similar.
Day 12 – Tour the City of Oaxaca and Visit the Santo Domingo Church
Enjoy a day relaxing in Oaxaca. In the afternoon, you will go on a city tour. You’ll get to visit the Santo Domingo Church, Ex-Convent, and Cultural Center. This complex has been the seat of the Dominican Order in Oaxaca since the 1500s. You spend the final night of your Mexico Bike Tour in Oaxaca City.

Day 13 – Go to the Airport
Your Mexico Bike Tour will come to an end as you are transferred to the airport to catch your return flight.
