On this Cycling Mexico Tour, you’ll discover a variety of environments from jungle to Caribbean as you bike for 7 days in the Yucatan Peninsula. There’s so much to see and do there! You’ll get to kayak in the stunning wetlands of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, snorkel above the world’s second longest coral reef, and cool off in the clear waters of cenotes. What’s more, you’ll learn about Mayan culture as you visit the breathtaking archaeological sites of Coba, Tulum, Ek Balam, and Chichen Itza. Join us for an unforgettable adventure biking in Mexico!

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive to Cancun, Drive to Chichen Itza, and Enjoy a Light and Sound Show
When you arrive to Cancun, you will be welcomed by your professional naturalist guide. You will then travel by car to Chichen Itza. Once you get there, you will receive a briefing about your Cycling Mexico Tour activities and other important information. Then, you will check into the Mayaland Hotel or similar. When it gets dark, you will see a light and sound show at Chichen Itza.

Day 2 – Explore the Ancient Ruins of Chichen Itza and Bike to Valladolid
Early in the morning, you will visit the archaeological site of Chichen Itza. Next, you will go on a bike ride through beautiful countryside and picturesque Mexican villages to Valladolid. There, you will check into Hotel Meson del Marques or similar. Biking distance: 37 miles (59 km)

Day 3 – Discover the Ek Balam Archaeological Site and Tour Valladolid
You will bike to the Ek Balam Ruins in the morning. Then, you will bike back to Valladolid to enjoy a city tour and museum visit. After a lovely afternoon, you will be able to choose from the many dinner options in Valladolid (at your own expense). Finally, you will rest for the night in Meson del Marques or similar. Biking distance: 37 miles (59 km)

Day 4 – Swim in the Tamcach Ha Cenote, Tour the Coba Ruins, and Go Zip Lining
After a tasty breakfast, you will pedal to Coba. On the way, you will stop to take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the huge Tamcach Ha Cenote. Next, you’ll see the Coba Ruins. You can also enjoy an optional zip line tour there. Finally, you will travel by van to Tulum. You will stay for the night at Hotel Los Lirios or similar. Biking distance: 44 miles (70 km)

Day 5 – Marvel at the Beauty of the Tulum Archaeological Site and Swim in a Cenote
Early in the morning, you can enjoy an optional bird watching tour. Then, your Cycling Mexico Tour continues as you ride to the Tulum Ruins. This is one of the most beautiful sites of the Mayan Riviera. There, you will hear about Mexican culture and take unbeatable photos. After that, you will go for a swim in a cenote and bike back to Hotel Los Lirios or similar. Biking distance: 16 miles (25 km)

Day 6 – Kayak in the Wetlands of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve and Relax on the Beach
In the morning, you will bike to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. There, you will be able to kayak in the wetlands and learn about the area. After that, you will spend the afternoon relaxing on Tulum’s beach. Finally, you will take an air-conditioned van to Cancun Hotel Marriot Courtyard or similar. Biking distance: 44 miles (56 km)

Day 7 –  Go to the Cancun Airport
After a delicious breakfast, you will go by van to the Cancun International Airport to catch your return flight.
