This beautiful tour will enable you to get to know a stunning nature and wildlife, and to learn more about the local culture. These 4 or 5 days (at your convenience) in the jungle will be filled with outstanding experiences.

Day 1: Start your immersion in the nature!

You will begin your tour by taking a small canoe to go by the Manduro river towards the lagoon of Sapococha. You will then walk around the lagoon and enjoy the sounds of birds, amphibians, animals, as well as learn about various types of aquatic plants. After that, you will go to your lodge and have lunch there. In the afternoon you will take the Socali Trail, known for the variety of jungle terrains that it crosses. This Path will be your introduction to the primary forest. You will then go back to your lodge to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Hike and go piranha fishing! 

After breakfast, you will take the Capibara Trail. It will fill you with adventure when crossing its marshy lands with numerous palms that you can’t find in any other type of terrain. You will then go back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will leave your rubber boots and hiking clothes for shorts and t-shirt (recommended) to go on a small canoe and enjoy a nice artisanal piranha fishing.

Before starting this activity, your guides will show you how to use one of the most outstanding Amazonian weapons “La cerbatana o bodoquera”. Dinner and night back at the lodge. At night the second group will go out to observe alligators in canoes around the lagoon.

Day 3: Dive into the local nature

You will start your day by equipping yourselves to walk. Then, you will take a canoe and sail upstream into the jungle. You will be able to observe butterflies, orchids, amphibians, all this before reaching the Dos Ramas trail. There, you will take a short walk to learn more about medicinal plants, birds and animals. Lunch back at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will sail towards Napo River to swim and to learn about Napo River and its inhabitants.

Day 4: Get to know a local community

After breakfast, you will take a motorized canoe and head out of the reserve to visit an indigenous family from the Quichua del Oriente community.

Yur guides will tell you about the customs, traditions and way of life of this community. Back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will equip yourself to walk and visit the path of the Guatusos. There, you will have the opportunity to learn through your guides the use of some plants within the indigenous culture. Furthermore, you will be able to delight yourself with the sounds of the birds, insects and animals. Return to the Lodge for dinner and night.

Day 5: It’s time to go back home!

After breakfast, you will take the motorized canoe to go back to Coca. This will be the end of this incredible tour in Yasuni Ecuador!

  • Passport and color copy

  • 1 x large backpack or duffle bag
  • 1 x small waterproof day pack
  • 3 x lightweight cotton (or other fast drying material) long trousers (avoid jeans)
  • 4 – 5 x earth or dark colored long-sleeved cotton shirts, t-shirts or blouses
  • Vests with pockets are useful for carrying camera equipment and other accessories
  • 1-2 x pairs of knee-high cotton socks for each day in the rainforest (waterproof if possible)

National flights: Airline baggage allowance is 23 kilograms per person.
