Corazon Volcano (in English it refers to “Heart Volcano”) is an inactive eroded stratovolcano in Ecuador, situated about 30 kilometers southwest of Quito in the western slopes of the Andes mountains. Join us on this full-day tour as we bring you to hike up this mountain, and indulge yourself in a day of adventure!
For this tour, you will leave from Quito early in the morning and be driven south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes, until you arrive at the village “El Chaupi”. You will then continue to be driven up to the trailhead – 4000 meters (13120 feet) above sea level. This will be the starting point of your hike.
The first part of the hike will take you through some small Andean grass. After that, you will get onto the sandy and scramble section, which will lead you directly to the summit of Corazon Volcano – 4786 meters (15720 feet) above sea level. Lunch will be along the way and the total time taken will be around 8 hours, including the descent. You will be able to arrive back in Quito by late afternoon on the same day.
