Take Part in the Chagra Parade and Visit Cotopaxi National Park!

Once a year in July, the town of
Machachi has its annual Chagra Parade – a 2-day event consisting of a lasso contest and bullfight commemorating Cotopaxi Volcano’s last eruption. Join us for a 10 days 9 nights tour, as we combine a visit to this parade with a 8-day horseback ride to Cotopaxi Volcano and the Haciendas.

About 2000 Chagras (local cowboys) participate on horses in this Chagra Parade – they come from different provinces just to be part of this parade. Spectators, including yourself, come from all over the country to soak up the festivities.

This 10-day tour is specifically designed for those looking for both a cultural immersion and adventure. On the first days, riders will have the opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude. On the following days, you will head towards the Cloud Forest and subsequently to Cotopaxi Volcano.

What are you waiting for? Come join us now!
