On this tour you will be able to visit the Tirimbina Rainforest Center for an all immersive chocolate tour and discover the secrets behind one of the world’s most loved sweets!
By embarking on this tour you will be guided through the Virgen del Socorro in San Jose as well as visiting the Carrillo National Park of the Sarapiqui area which is one of the most well-known areas in Costa Rica to experience the many wonders that rainforests offer!
Your guide will take you through the Tirimbina Rainforest where you will be able to see toucans, monkeys and parrots among other wildlife after your quick San Jose tour. Once you trek through the rainforest you will be guided to a local chocolate making area and learn about the whole process from cacao plant to actual chocolate bar!

This tour will start in San Jose and you will stop at the La Virgen del Socorro and have lunch at a local Costa Rican restauraunt.
After having lunch you will be transported through the lowlands of the Caribbean and Braulio Carrillo National Park to arrive in the Sarapiqui area.
Once you arrive in the Sarapiqui area you will begin your chocolate tour! The tour will start with a visit to a cacao plantation to discover the wide variety of cacao species and you will then begin to be guided through the actual chocolate making process and at the end sample a piece of chocolate yourself that are made from a local association of women!
After learning about the chocolate making process you will then visit an ant farm to discover the secrets of the leaf-cutter ants in Costa Rica.
At the end of the tour, you will be transported back to San Jose.
