Itinerary

Your walking tour starts at the Museum of Antioquia. There, you’ll find one of the world’s largest collections of Botero’s work, including 108 of his paintings. Appreciate his world-renowned artistic style in which he exaggerates the proportions of humans and animals. Your expert tour guide will lead you through the museum. Fernando Botero was born in Medellin, so the city is full of his art. You can find 90 of his sculptures around this “City of Eternal Spring.”

Next up, you will visit the Plaza de Botero. Admire the open-air exhibition of Botero’s bronze sculptures. After that, you will head to Parque Berrio, an important local park. Near there, you will see frescos by Pedro Nel Gomez, a Colombian artist, engineer, and sculptor from the mid-1900s. His art illustrates the development of Medellin through history.

Finally, you will go to San Antonio Park to see the Pájaro de Paz (Bird of Peace). The group FARC blew up the sculpture in 1995, killing many innocent people. Then, Botero made another identical bird and placed it next to the one that had been blown up.

If you chose the “No Transportation” option when booking, your guide can lead you to a metro station and help you figure out how to get back to your hotel. Your guide can also recommend a nice lunch place.
