Meet your tour guide in the city of Armenia, where you’ll board a private transfer to Salento’s Cocora Valley. Here, you’ll begin your tour of Quindio with an outstanding look at Colombia’s national tree — La Palma de Cera. Marvel at the immense and noble palms that tower nearly 20 stories into the air and extend into the horizon as far as the eye can see.
Drive from Cocora Valley to nearby hillsides where you’ll get a new look at the landscape from above. You’ll get the chance to touch the massive palms, explore the area, and capture stunning panoramas of Cocora Valley and the world’s tallest palm trees.
From the hillside, you’ll descend towards Salento for lunch. Try a regional trout dish made with fresh fish from the mountain streams, or enjoy any number of delicious meals available. In the afternoon, explore the colorful colonial town, enjoy the cool spring-like climate, and admire the many artesanal goods made and sold in Salento.
Later in the day you’ll travel onward to Filandia. Along the way, you’ll stop at an overlook of the valley, where you’ll get a chance to see the region’s vast coffee plantations rise and fall over the hills. Capture a few photos and enjoy the fresh mountain air before you continue the drive to Filandia. Here, relax in the iconic town square and enjoy a true Colombian experience — coffee! Grown, harvested, and processed right in the Salento Valley, it doesn’t get much fresher!
After enjoying an afternoon getting to know Filandia’s locals, you’ll board your transfer and head back to Armenia.
