The best time to visit Caño Cristales is between July and December, when the river amazes onlookers with its shades of yellow, green, blue, black and red — a spectacle found nowhere else on Earth. On this tour, you’ll discover hidden waterfalls, whirlpools, and natural swimming pools. While bathing in the “liquid rainbow,” Caño Cristales, you’re sure to spot some of the many unique plants and animals that live in the park.
The 4-day experience also allows you to spend ample time in La Macarena, a small and charming Colombian town. Dance with the locals and taste the delicious culinary delights. Your time in the region supports the local community, which has recently organized itself around ecotourism while maintaining its traditional culture.
