About your chef: Diana Pizano is a bilingual English/Spanish speaking chef native to Colombia. She is a biologist and farm-to-table chef specializing in home-cooked food and well-worn recipes. She is the founder of Comiendo Cuento, and a passionate advocate for Colombia’s agricultural heritage.
Your journey will begin at the 7 de Agosto Plaza Market. Here Diana Pizano, a biologist and farm-to-table chef will guide you through the plaza, where you will taste agricultural products, fruits, vegetables, and seeds exclusive to the Colombian tropical landscape. Talk with friendly merchants and farmers happy to help you select the freshest products for your meal.
After leaving the Plaza Market, head to Diana’s kitchen in the Rosales neighborhood, where the Comiendo Cuento project currently takes place, and where you’ll enjoy the traditional custom of cooking, good company, and great food.
In the Comiendo Cuento kitchen, learn new techniques and experience new flavors as you make a traditional Colombian dish of your choosing. Select from a variety of traditional entrees, breads, desserts, and tropical drinks. You will learn about preparation, conservation techniques, ingredients, and recipes. End your workshop with a delicious and well-earned meal — made with your own hands and with Colombia’s natural abundance.
