If you are coming to Chile, you just have to visit the picturesque seaside cities of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. We will pick you up at your hotel and drive for an hour and a half to the Chilean coastline. Once there, we will start by driving across the coast to Concón, a beach known for its surf shops, seaside restaurants, and its amazing sand dunes, where we will stop for a while so you can enjoy the panoramic view of Valparaiso Harbor.
Our second spot is the trendy beach town of Reñaca, where we have good chances of observing sea lions on the seaside rocks. Then, we head to Viña del Mar, also known as “Garden City.” Here, we will see all its important landmarks, such as the Flower Clock, casino, a “Moai” statue from Easter Island, and, of course, the city’s beaches.
From there, we will get going to our main destination: Valparaiso. We will start at the heart of this city, the Plaza Sotomayor. Here, we will go on a ride up in a vintage funicular that will take us to Concepcion and Alegre Hills. Valparaiso is known for its free spirit and vibrant web of hills that has influenced and motivated various poets and writers across time. You will completely understand this when you are there experiencing amazing sights everywhere. Wander along the scenic streets of this UNESCO World Heritage City, and let yourself get lost in the never-ending staircases, the many lookout points with incredible panoramic views, and so much more.
After exploring Valparaiso, we will journey inland all the way to the Casablanca Valley. Here, we will visit Casas del Bosque Vineyard for a tour and wine tasting. Casas del Bosque is one of the most important wineries in Chile these days. It all started in 1993 when a family of Italian descendants founded this winery.
Nowadays, the vineyard has 580 acres of planted vines, and it’s exclusively dedicated to the production of cool-climate varieties of wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The secret of Casas del Bosque is its soil. In the hills where the winery is located, we can find red clay composites of volcanic origin that sit on top of decomposed granite layers formed 110 million years ago beneath the Pacific Ocean. This soil is what gives its wines a unique characteristic: sea salt flavor. It’s because of this that Casas del Bosque has gained great esteem and in 2010 it became the Best Vineyard to Visit in Chile. All this and much more in this informative tour you don’t want to miss.
