This bike tour takes you to explore the cultural highlights of Santiago Center: historical monuments, palaces, churches, as well as classic downtown sites.
The tour starts at El Comendador 2060 (10:00am) from where we will first bike through the bohemian Bellavista district, and visit the house of Pablo Neruda (La Chascona). You will continue the ride then through Forestal Park, home to the Fine Arts Museum, and head towards Central Market, an internationally renowned market for its gastronomy.
The next stop of the tour will lead you to Plaza de Armas, a typical meeting place for locals, where you will appreciate the Mapuche monument, Santiago Cathedral, Santiago Post Office, City Hall and the National History Museum. After this visit, we will continue our ride towards Bulnes promenade and La Moneda Palace (the presidential palace) that hides stories through the years of the military coup in Chile.
Our next stop will be New York Street, where you can observe particular cultural heritage buildings, introducing the magic of ancient Chile as few buildings have survived the intense earthquakes of the country. On this ride through the commercial center, you will also explore the Palace of Justice and the former National Congress. We will return to our starting point Plaza Baquedano where the tour ends.
