Begin your day at 9:00 am with hotel pick-up from San Pedro de Atacama to the trailhead in the Cordillera de la Sal. As you hike, marvel at the unique mountains of clay, gypsum, and salt all around you, and notice how wind and water have formed the mountains into unique and stunning shapes.
As the sun rises high over the desert and heats up the day, you’ll get a chance to hear the sound of salt rocks as they respond to the changing weather.
Continue your hike past dunes, cacti, and and the Salt Range in the distance. As you walk, you’ll begin to hear a new sound in the desert landscape — water!
