Enjoy the comfort of ship travel mixed with exciting adventures amid the wildlife and majesty of southernmost Chile. Your seven day trip takes you through iconic and photogenic scenery of natural phenomenon. You’ll see wildlife such as humpback whales, penguins, sea lions, otters, albatross, petrels, skuas and elephant seals. You will kayak around ice bergs, hike on glaciers, and sail through stunning fjords. Our local, bilingual guides will assist you with expeditions and explain local culture in put your journey in historic perspective.
Day 0: Punta Arenas
Meeting and welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 1: Punta Arenas – Carlos III Island
At 08:00 am, you will be picked up from the hotel and brought to Punta Carrera (in the Fuerte Bulnes area), where you will board this ship and set sail at 09:00 am. The adventure begins sailing through the Strait of Magellan to the Carlos III Island in the Francisco Coloane Marine Park.
Day 2 Carlos III – Helado Glacier
Early in the morning, you will sail through the Barbara Channel towards the Helado Glacier. In the afternoon, you will get a chance to see whales, penguins, sea lions, skuas, petrels, and albatross near Rupert Island.
Day 3 Isla Carlos III – Barbara Channel
You will spend the day whale watching near the Barbara Channel, Charles Islands, and Rupert Islet. At night, the ship will sail through the Strait of Magellan towards the D’Agostini Sound.
Day 4 D’ Agostini Sound – Bahía Angelito
At night, you will pass through the Magdalena Channel and Kyats Fjord and anchor in Bahia Angelito. In the morning you will visit the Aguila Glacier, where you will get a chance to kayak. Around noon, you will sail towards the Serrano or D’Agostini Glaciers.
Day 5 Gabriel Channel – Seno Almirantazgo
In the morning, you will visit the impressive Vergara Glacier; around noon, you will sail towards the Gabriel Channel, which leads to Almirantazgo. From there, the journey continues to Azopardo bay, the home to a small colony of black-brown albatross. The ship will anchor in the Parry Fjord.
Day 6 Caleta María – Jackson Bay
In the morning, you will visit a colony of black-brown albatross and a colony of elephant seals in the Jackson Bay. In the afternoon, you will sail through the Parry Fjord and enjoy the spectacular glacier surrounded by some of the highest icy peaks of the Cordillera Darwin.
Day 7 Punta Carrera – Punta Arenas
Early in the morning, the ship will begin sailing through the Gabriel channel back towards Punta Arenas; you will arrive around 18:00 pm.
