Go on a Beautiful Journey Between Two Countries!

During your stay in South America, you will be able to cross a border hastily: by horse. This trip will leave you in Paso el León, located 113 km (70.21 miles) from Bariloche. Go on an adventure and discover the beauty of the forest of the Lakes Region. A pilchero will take care of your luggage at your destination, therefore you will only have one thing to worry about: having a good time. You are going to spend five days following the footsteps of the huasos (Chilean countrymen) who have been using this road for more than 150 years.

Day 1: Cochamo, Chile – La Junta
You will start this tour by meeting your guides around a coffee. Then you will go by car on a road bordering the Fjord with Yate volcano in the background and the Cochamo River to get to the beginning of the trail. You are going to reach your final destination after approximately 4 hours, the Cochamó Shelter in “La Junta” sector.

This place attracts climbers and walkers from all over the world but also huasos of the area who often take the tourist to the valley of Cochamo. You will pass through the Valdivian jungle, cross rivers of crystalline waters, and observe the fauna of the area. You will have dinner and sleep in an incredible Refugio.

Day 2 : La Junta – El Arco
Once you’ve had breakfast and the horses are saddled up, you will leave the refugio and cross Cochamó River. You are going to follow the trail and keep crossing rivers through the Valdivian forest. You will have a Lunch break before seeing the alerces, trees that are more than 3000 years old and that are more than 5 meters (16.4 ft) in diameter.
Dinner and night in the public shelter of the Arch.

Day 3 : The Arch – North Vidal Lake
On this third day you are going to ride on a complicated road through the mountain, under a dense and green forest. You will then have lunch on the beach of Lake Grande before continuing on to Lake Vidal. Upon arrival, Agusto and his wife will be waiting for you to share a dinner. You will camp on the shore of the lake, where you will be able to fish trout or salmon at sunset or sunrise!

Day 4 : North Vidal Lake – Torrentoso
You are going to start this day by walking along Lake Vidal: 11 km (6.84 mi) between the mountains and the lake. In the sector of Torrentosoyou are going to meet true huasos, and you will camp next to a river. Within a few minutes walk, you will get to see some cave paintings that very few people have seen so far.

Day 5: Torrentoso – El León Pass
To get to the village of León, you will follow the Manso River until reaching the first pampas that indicate the entrance to León. There, the vegetation changes, so do the mountains. You will have lunch before ending your tour the Chile-Argentina border, where a transfer to Bariloche will be waiting for you (if needed).

  • The reservation becomes effective with the payment of 30%. of the total (no refund), 70% must be paid 15 days before the start of the trip.
