Located next to the Pünowemañke and separated by a ravine through which flows the Pichitrankura estuary, this hill also fulfills a ritual function by being connected to the rituals performed in Lof Trankura. Located inside Lof Trankura, Cerro Penewe’s summit is made up of a forest of Araucarian trees, making it characteristic compared to the other hills present in the area. The Trankura community also regulates visits to this area and manages the care and protection of the rich diversity of the flora and fauna present. On this tour, a guide will also let you understand the local history and geographical context of the territory, as well as introduce you the varieties of flora and fauna present.
This local trail, crossing the 3 ancestral forests of Coigües, Lengas, and Araucarias, will allow you not only to delve into the scenic and green surroundings of the area but also to view the magnificent Trankura Valley at 1200 meters above sea level at the end.
