This 4-day trek through the local ancient forests is an amazing opportunity to discover the stunning nature of the area while learning about the region’s culture with your local guides. An unforgettable experience!
Beyond La Junta is located El Arco, in the middle of an ancient forest (bosques milenarios). Its name comes from the fact that a waterfall passes under a natural arch of stones. Above this arch is a younger Alerce (local tree) than the other Alerce trees in that area. The Alerce is a protected conifer and one of the largest and longest-living trees on the planet (more than 3000 years).
Apart from seeing this stunning nature, you will also the chance to fish, to walk to a beautiful waterfall and to observe the stars in the darkness of the forest. The public refuge of the Arch was built in 2001 by Favián, Don Pedro and “Moncadita”. At night your guides will light up a fire and cook on it, a typical experience!
And all of this will take a place on lovely Chilean horses!
