In this Amazon natives tour, we will visit the region around Belém, known as Baixo Acará, because it is located at the mouth of the Acará River, an hour by boat from Belém. This region is strongly marked by the presence of traditional communities, which originated from the escapes or the remaining slaves working on the farms, plantations, and potteries of the region in the period of Brazil Colonia.
In this tour, an Amazonian native will share his knowledge regarding traditional medicinal plants and will demonstrate, among other things, how manioc flour, one of the region’s principal exports, is prepared.
