Itinerary: Iguazu Falls Tours Argentina

Day 1 – From Posadas to Obera, your adventure in Argentina starts now!
Upon arrival in Posadas, you will be brought to La Chacra, in Obera. This journey takes approximately 1.5hrs.

The estancia, a typical gaucho environment, will be the perfect place to relax and experience the local culture  of rural Argentina. Far from the big city, this family ranch will be your homestay equipped with homemade meals with lots of local flavors.

In the land of Yerba Mate, you will visit the production area, where you will learn about the plantations, the harvest and the consistency of the leaves. And, of course, you will also taste this famous drink as well as learn how to prepare it!

After the tour is over, feel free to enjoy the rest of your day in the swimming pool, or maybe getting some exercise in on the tennis or volleyball courts.

Day 2 – From Obera to Jesuit Ruins and Iguazu Falls
After breakfast, a private shuttle will take you on a 4-hour journey across the province of Misiones to Puerto Iguazu. On the way, you will stop at the San Ignacio Mini Jesuit Ruins. Built in 1632, these ruins have been recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site due to their historical importance. Built for the colonization of the natives in the area, the ruins were abandoned by the Jesuits in 1767 when they were forced to abandon the continent. Lost in dense vegetation, the remains were discovered in 1897, but weren’t restored until 1940.
To this day, the ruins are still surrounded by dense vegetation. The area’s mystic make-up will give you the opportunity to learn more about the history of the native inhabitants of Misiones and their past.
(Note: The guided visits to the ruins are only offered in Spanish).

From here you will continue to Puerto Iguazu.

This small and charming town is the gateway to the impressive Iguazu Falls, (which have recently been declared as one of the New Seven Natural Wonders!), making them a must see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel at which point you will have the afternoon to relax and enjoy the warm climate and jungle setting.

Day 3 – Iguazu Falls Tours Argentina Side
After breakfast, you will depart on a full day tour to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls where you will enjoy intimate views of this unforgettable section of the Iguazu River. A guide will show you the hidden gems of this unique National Park and will take you off the beaten path to show you the best views.
Lower and upper walkways allow for up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. Trails through the immense 210 square mile reserve provide visitors with a multitude of views of the falls, especially the largest one, Devil’s Throat. You’ll finish the day with a beautiful ecological train ride through the park before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Note that while in the park there are different trips available for an additional cost. On the “Gran Aventura” you can sail the river and get right up close to the base of the falls (Please be aware that there is a 100% chance that you will get wet. Be sure to take some extra clothes if you want to do this excursion).

Duration: 6-8 hours
