Travel to the breathtaking Lake District in Argentina, and stay in the charming mountain town Bariloche. A local guide will take you to the best overlook points in the Andes Mountains, where you can enjoy stunning views of the sparkling lakes and valleys. This 4-day tour includes a boat ride on Lake Nahuel Huapi and guided treks through forests with giant, ancient trees.
You’ll visit traditional island communities and learn about the local culture in Bariloche. This trip is perfect for nature-lovers, hikers, and travelers who simply like to relax and take in the mountain air and scenery.
Day 1 – Welcome to Bariloche
Your guide will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day however you like. Bordering a large glacial lake and surrounded by the Andes Mountains, Bariloche is a charming alpine town with Swiss-style architecture and world-renowned chocolate. You can stroll the city streets or take a short hike in the afternoon.
Day 2 – Visit top overlook points in Bariloche
Travel by gondola to the summit of Cerro Otto, where you’ll have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. If it’s too cold to walk around, you can enjoy 360 views from the bar Swivel or peruse the art gallery.
After lunch, your guide will take you to Cerro Campanario (about 18km from Bariloche). Here, you’ll take a chairlift to the top of the mountain. You’ll have amazing view of the glacial lake Nahuel Huapi, Moreno Lake, and stunning mountain ranges. Next, the tour will continue to some of the top sights in Bariloche, including San Eduardo Chapel, Puerto Pañuelo, Lopez Bay and Panoramic Point.
Day 3 – Forest trek and island tour
Travel to Peninsula Quetri Hue in Puerto Pañuelo via a shared afternoon transfer. Then, trek in the Arrayán Forest, where ancient arrayanes will tower 50 feet over you as you walk along the wooden pathways through the nature reserve.
The next stop is Victoria Island, where you have the option of another trek through a forest, a cave paintings tour, or a relaxing afternoon on the beach before a return to Bariloche.
Day 4 – Transfer to airport
Your guide will drop you off at the airport at your chosen time.
